Children's Ministry
At Parkway, we have a variety of ministries for children so they can be a part of Parkway’s mission of Knowing, Growing, and Going ! We want children to walk in Jesus’ steps by increasing in:
- Wisdom. We believe biblical instruction in God’s truths fosters spiritual growth.
- Stature. We offer opportunities to strengthen both the body and the mind in order to be fit for godly service.
-Favor with God and Man. We encourage children to reach out to the world around them, providing the chance to love God and others through fellowship and service.
Our children’s ministry encompasses birth – 6th grade and includes regular programming on Sundays and Wednesdays as well as special children’s events throughout the year.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Sunday Morning Activities
9:00 A. M. – Sunday School
Children from birth through 6th grade meet each week and learn God’s Word through music, Bible stories, games, and learning activities. Caring teachers get to know children on an individual basis.
Children's Church
Preschool Children’s Church for ages 4 and 5 is offered during our morning service at 10:30 AM. Preschoolers enjoy a themed curriculum that involves music, video, puppets, crafts, and hands-on activities.
Elementary Children’s Church for children in 1st through 3rd grades is also offered at our morning service at 10:30 AM. Children participate in the adult service for praise and worship and are then dismissed for a Bible lesson on their level.
Sunday Evening Activities
4:30 P. M. – Bible Drill (January through April)
Children in 4th through 6th grades learn in-depth Bible skills in a fun way, advancing to different levels of mastery in Scripture location and memorization. Children may advance to the associational and state Bible drills. Sign ups are going on now!
6:00 P. M. – Children’s Choir
Children from age 2 through 6th grade enjoy singing praises to God while developing confidence in their talents and abilities. Children typically present two musicals each year, one during the Christmas season and one in the spring.
6:00 P. M. –GRAPPLE (a seasonal study for pre-teens)
GRAPPLE is a preteen study for children in grades 4 – 6 . Join us for snacks, games, Bible study, and relevant discussion on topics that are of interest to this age group. Our preteens will be challenged to consider who they are in Christ and what that practically means as they face issues they encounter both now and in the coming teen years. Wednesday Evenings
At Parkway, we’re excited to bring Team Kid to our children’s Wednesday night activities. Balancing high-energy fun and games with high-impact Bible lessons, Scripture memorization, and life application, Team Kid is a ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him.
Kingdom Kids Preschool Program
The Kingdom Kids Preschool Program at Parkway exists to support and minister to families by providing biblically-based, age-appropriate education for preschoolers. It is our desire to provide a safe Christian environment where children are loved and encouraged to grow physically, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually.
